Galeria Saro is an Art Gallery and Handcrafted Gift Boutique in Stillwater, MN specializing in ready to hang, framed Fine Art and Prints, handmade Pottery, Glass, Wood, Textiles, & Jewelry as well as handcrafted gifts as well as goat milk lotions and soaps. Custom matting and framing is also ($1.00 to $2.00/inch) for your already purchased or created art works.

We have original signed Paintings, Watercolors, and drawings by US artists Helen Powell Hooper, Elizabeth Kennedy, Lauren Hefty, and Bob Brigl. We have signed art prints including international lithographs and etchings by renowned artists Pierre Alechinsky, Andre, Lars Bo, Jim Hansel, Lebadang, and Staynovitz and photos on canvas by Minnesota and Wisconsin artists Jane Dierberger and Janessa Kohler, as well as original vintage posters from Art Exhibitions by Karel Appel, Seurat, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, and Toulouse Lautrec. My most popular item is “An Evening in Stillwater” a signed and numbered print by Tim Leiss which is available in a multitude of sizes (a trio of 12” x 12”, 16” x 20”, 12” x 36”, & 16” x 40”) for you to choose the perfect custom mat and frame.

Themes include nature scenes, trees, birds, flowers, landscapes, cityscapes, boats, barns, wildlife, bridges, maps and European scenes and streets. More beautiful framed prints for the budget minded can be found by Henry Miller, Claude Monet, Andrew Wyeth, Vincent Van Gogh & Paul Gauguin, vintage historic prints by Daumier and maps.

Local and International Art include pottery by East Nashville Helen Hooper-Hirst: hand thrown mugs, bowls, plates, platters, serving pieces, teapots and vases. MEET SARAH

My name is Sarah Scanlon and I am a 3rd generation Art Gallery Owner: my Grandparents were art collectors and owners of “The Collectors Corner” in Door County and grandmother Helen Powell Hooper an artist from Manitowoc, WI. My mother, Mary Hirst was an accomplished potter and owned the Pots Place in Bowling Green KY, and last but not least my sister is Helen Hooper-Hirst whose pottery I carry in the gallery. I had a 30 year career and retired in the Oil and Gas Industry, geologist in the oil field, (Core Laboratories: Wyoming, Montana and Colorado Overthrust belt), research and development (Exxon: LaBarge and Big Piney, WY), laboratory testing and refinery management (Flint Hills Resources: Rosemount, MN).

I went to High School in New Delhi India, and developed a desire to travel due to that unique and wonderful experience. My late husband worked for Northwest and Delta Airlines, so we traveled and scuba dived all over the world with Asia as our focal point. Now traveling is my passion, collecting unique art and artifacts for the galley. I recently returned from Bali and Australia, last year France, Iceland and Bhutan (where I hiked to the Tigers Nest Monastery) woohoo, quite the accomplishment. My daughter and her husband are educators at the American school in Shanghai so after the Covid dilemma I will be finding some items from China! (Maybe not so soon).
